Having them laid flat can cause it to look different fitted to the car, as the body panels will have been sprayed hanging like they are fitted to the car, so your arches will have dried differently

Also you have to remember your car is at least 10 years old, the paint will have faded

use a darker / lighter primer depending whether you need a darker / lighter finish - or spray a coat (or3?) of black / white spray first?

yea, primer, black, arden, laquer

replace black with white if they need to be made lighter in colour, black would, or should, make it darker

ah well doesnt seem like this has worked either with the black under the arden still seems to be the same shade will get the lacquer on in the morning and see what happens then but think am going to have to go with a compressor next i think belton is right that the rattle cans are a really bad colour match

to be honest mate i didnt really see how the painting arden blue straight onlto black would work, without just makin the blue come out awfully, you could try grey primer, then dust black over the top, so the blue paint that is on the black will be darker. But yea you are not gunna go wrong doing it with a compressor and gun, you wll get a perfect colour match, and a proffesional finish! if you do need em doing and cant do em yourself let me know, we could come to a deal! i stil have arden blue paint and will be painting my new bonnet soon
cheers
