Yeah but you say it as if trade in is the only option. You could sell privately...

I can't be doing with splitting it down as I'd need to essentially drop the car off and drive away in a new one.

Wisebuyers = £891

Parker's guide = £625

also try
http://www.carspotter.co.uk/

and

http://www.cartextcheck.co.uk/

gives you some ammo to hit them with, if they pitch at £400 say then yo can offer evidence that it is worth somewhere between £630 and £900 (on figures i found) and you'd appreciate a matching offer....

hope that helps?

My sister got £1000 for her W reg 1.2 8v recently as a private sale. Only 60,000 miles though, but still.

See what they say. All three times I've bought a car from a dealer with a part-ex the dealer has asked me what I expect to get, so I just push it.

When I traded my X reg 12v corsa in a few years back I said I wanted £2200 for it. The bloke offered £1800 which I was over the moon with.

Basically, if you get asked, say a grand. If they offer £500 you're happy, any more you're laughing.

Deano, if they ask how much you're looking for say £750 and they may meet you somewhere.

When trading in the Golf the first garage offered £4k but the second dealer offered me £4.5k because thats what i said i was hoping for from a dealer part ex. Worth a try mate
