Drinking 1.0l of oil in 50 mile and lossing water like a mo fucker... So I'm in two minds of changing the engine or just getting the head rebuilt as the bottom end is sweet What have people payed and whats involved?

Rings wouldnt make it use water

Its a x16xel bottom end with a c16xe head checked the compression and its got just over 200 in each cylinder

not sure there are many decent garages in iraq tbh

Lol, ask philip2 on here, to get it skimmed and new valve stem seals, is about £60ish i think

No, they wouldn't effect the water levels, would say your head gaskets fooked, but if you've done a compression test, obviously not. You checked any pipes that may be split?

It's got a tiny leak from a pipe that goes on the inlet but the car is chucking loads of white/gray smoke out witch I assume is oil and water?

If you're convinced it being water and oil, and it's not the head gasket, it could be the one of the water gallaries cracked and oil and water getting in though the valve stem seals?, best off asking somebody more experienced than me haha. But if you're sure the bottom end's sound, why not just get a new head?

headgasket gone? block warped or head warped? why was the head took off and was it skimmed before fitted?

old head was burning oil and was replaced with a c16xe head and its just as bad
