nah i didnt bother welding them. if you take the plastic arch off you can see where the origanal spot welds are, u'll know what to look for. basically i cut them off, lol mine is almost upto the visible bodywork, as you have seen.
i tried to knock them together but didnt have much luck, there is about a 1mm gap.
infact i remember why i ddint spot weld them, its becasue there wasnt anywhere that wouldnt been seen to do it.

my drivers side rear rubs even if i have no passeges, but i drive on country roads every day. not so bad in town.
had something done to he arches at r-tec, but they put the bolts back inwhile the bonding agent for the spats cured.
just need togring them ot i think,then i'll be laughing.
