Every method has its own problems though. It's tricky, but this is the only viable option. For the record I'd much rather they didnt go under, even though we do benefit slightly.

TBH the perfectly fair way to do it is to pretend they never existed, so just take off the points.

How else could you do it?

I know you shouldn't rely on other teams for your own progres but some teams could miss out on the play offs and one team could now be potentially relegated whereas before they would have stayed up.

Suppose if you expel Chester though you have to erase the results too.

The results had to be expunged. Because what about the teams yet to play them? They might have needed those 3 points to stay up but would never have got the chance.

Jonny was telling us that one of York's players got his first ever hat trick against Chester and now it doesnt count
