Most jobs it seems are found through family/friends and as im having no luck with job centre/websites/jobs ive applied for i thought it might be worth while seeing if anyone knows of any jobs going. I can travel up to an hour from home so i can be anywhere from Stone in Staffordshire to Manchester and from Buxton to Wrexham. Im a Level 2 trained mechanic and have been working on cars since the age of 15. I also have nearly 5 years customer service experience. Ive pretty much done everything else you can think of at some point or another - motorbike rebuild and repair, painting/decorating, gardening/landscaping, house clearances/removals, shop fitting, furniture building, car body repair, marquee building, bar work, car recycling, animal care, fishery supervisor, football manager, welding, event supervisor and a few others.

Although i have done customer service for 5 years i want a change so preferably im after a career as a motor vehicle technician. Failing that i would like to do something practical and maybe even outdoors. So if you have any vacancies, know of any vacancies or know anyone that runs a company or is high up in a company that sounds like it might be for me can you please leave a contact phone number.

I know this will probably be a pointless exercise and i'll just get told to get down the job centre but if you dont ask you dont get!

ever thought of starting your own buisness. i know a guy who started off buying and breaking cars etc and now has his own workshop and buys and resells or repairs cars and is only 20 you got the experiance and skills so might be worth looking into.
Another example is im good friends with griffin autos and none of them have qualifications lol just started there own work shop and now they are rated around the country

Ive thought about it a lot of times and ive planned it all out but at the moment i dont have the finances or collateral. Ive thought about a business loan but the chances of the bank giving me a loan of over £50k to start the business i want is looking pretty slim If im going to do it id want to do it properly so i was thinking of mobile mechanic but when id priced up van, tools, equipment, loan interest and the other little things if i got a £50k loan going on the forecast i had for income i wouldnt be getting paid for about 2-3years and i just cant afford to do that.

50k to start as a mobile mechanic you only really need a decent tool box to start (halfords do very good tools now 120 piece box is about £100) ad use your own car until you can get a cheap van. If you need specialist tools just price them into the jobs as they come up. simples

If thats really what you want to do you can make it happen.
(ad in local news shopper doesn't cost much, failing that print some fliers and post by hand)
