Alright guys. I've just been looking at some photos of some x14/x16 engine bays and I just wanting to know what this part is and what it does? The little marshmallow shaped thing

I've been through my parts and I don't seem to have it so I'm wanting to know if I need to buy it or not
thanks

Looks like a brake vacumn pipe or some sort of non-return valve.

thats perfects, thanks very much mate for the pictures. I'm slowly starting to get a much clearer picture of how all these pipes go
Without sounding stupid, what does that pipe actually lead onto?
silvertornado, what engine does yours have?

its connected to the break vacume pipe but it actually is used to open the valve so that the sai can pump air into the manifold.

How new is your car? You may not have the pipes because its to new lol, i don't know though, mine has got them and its a 98 14xe!
and shaun, the 14 and 16xe engines are a bloody pain to work with, all the vacuum hoses and everything, your car is very nice though, looked at your project thread and its gorgeous!

Just blank off all the vacuum take-offs on the the brake servo vacuum hose Shaun. You wont need them as they are all associated with the operation of the SAI system.
