instantly, they sent out a new card straight away and they got the money back later

happened to me, bank phoned up and asked me if i had bought a bus ticket and couple quids worth of groceries as seemed unusual spending habit

canceled it gave me my money back and sent out a new card straight away

apparently they use it for a couple small purchases to check it works then max them out

Yep..

In 2003 Someone done 8 grand on my credit card before it was blocked.

I'm with sentinel so got the money back instantly.

someone cloned my debit card in canada.

got the money back after a couple of weeks.

Don't be silly, been in regular contact with them.

I had to sit down and circle things on my statement that i've not bought.

It was in January when the sales were on, so none of the purchases they made looked dodgy, apart from a holiday... They said it can take up to 6 months with cases like mine, but when i've spoken to general people... they all had their money back within a month!

Debit Card Davey, they've managed to withdraw cash from two branches down south, this is whats making it dodgy for Santander I guess... it totals £2100, nothing compared with your 8k, but still its annoying.

Thats why then.. Credit cards get refunded instantly normally debit cards can take forever if you've not got insurance..

I had my debit card skimmed whilst working away in Singapore (whether it happened there or not i'm not sure) - I used the card near home the day after I got back to the Uk, and 1/2hr after my transaction , there was a cash withdrawal in Italy - it got flagged up immediately by the Bank and I had a letter the next day with a new card in the post - got that within 3 days, and the £500-odd total refunded within a week of receiving the card

Debit cards with Barclays should be a few weeks until money is refunded in past experiances
