The car was making a loud ticking noise that got faster when i accelerated but stopped when i took my foot off the accelerator. It seems to be coming from the injectors. What can i do to fix the issue? I have a limited budget of £0, but i am willing to take the inlet off to get behind etc.

Also could the injectors ticking cause the car to judder a bit at certain rev ranges?

try an injector cleaner not that expensive

I did chuck some redex through it but the likelyness of redex doing anything is grim.

Injectors do tick but are the ticking really loud?

Really loud yes. I thought it was my tappets or something but further investigation leads me to believe its the injecters.

I also thought it was a leak in my exhaust manifold but i have checked that and cannot find one.

Anyone got any advice on how to stop the noise? Would buying some injectors on say... ebay and replacing each injector be a good thing to try? Or would that just be wasting money?

Go to the scrapyard, four injectors in your pocket. Job done and you get to feel like a pikey for the day.

mines also ticky and i've booked mine in a garage for the lifters to be changed, i hope its not my injectors ticking

My engine ticks on idle sometimes, it stops when the engine is revved. Maybe I have this too

Yea might well have to try this.

Ive heard about getting them ultrasonically cleaned. Does anyone know where abouts i can get this done? Also how much does it cost?
