Anyone ever had any problems starting there car? just ticks over. You can bumb start it tho. local garage dont have a clue and they've had it 3times! its not my car trying to help out my gf's sister as she uses the van for work and she keeps getting stuck. any help would be good thanks.

My cousins mk4 van can be a right pig to get going sometimes.
We think it's the pump giving up the ghost.
Every so often it will turn over but not start, Especially if it's facing up hill. We've figured out if it's parked facing down hill it starts.

talked to her today and she was saying its now cutting out to. shes having to hire a van for a couple of days and is talking about selling it and buying something else for work.
