i would imagine you'd be alot better buy a £200 sri 130 to do this to,not going to get much of a gain on the 1.4,just a shit load of fuel. You can even chop the original manifold in most cases. Fit the carbs, choke and throttle cables(probly have to bore the jets to suit but i cant imagine you would need to for the 1400).Your best bet on fueling is to use an original r1 pump, pre 2001.Electrics wise, scrap the ecu and coilpack, you'll need the dizzy, coil and amplifier of a similar engine size vauxhall. The loom should only really include the switch live, earth and speedo to the coil. Also your thermo stat wire and connect your pump live to the switch live, best to just remove the old pump and put the r1 pump where your fuel filter sits. As of gains i'm told it could produce anything from 15-25 horses on the 20xe. Think theres going to be a rolling road at crail sunday, hoping to get mine tested and find out the true gain. Oh and with a 4-1 and decat it sounds sexual! Anyways give bogg brothers a shout and see what the recommend for the 1400 if you really want to stick with that. Good bunch of guys who are more than willing to give tet advice over tet phone . Price just depends on where you get your parts.I would say you'll at least be looking at 400 sheets.

Thats not best advice ever. Nowt wrong with the 1.4 16v. If going bike carbs with it though, id look at pocketed pistons and get some half decent cams in it, arps, and decent ex manifold and system and have a revvy little motor that wil handle if cars set up. You wil need to make a trigger set up and run megajolt atleast to control ignition.

Im doing my c16xe v.soon, but im putting steel rods, hi-comp pistons, enem cams, steel caps, more headwork and a tony law manifold, should see 170-180bhp though. But when I do the trigger wheel etc il send pics over.
