I've been looking out of interest again at private plates but the closest ones to
my name (gareth) are silly money (14,000 and more) apart from dvla which don't have any decent ones and regtransfers, where else is best to browse

If the DVLA don't have anything for a reasonable price nowhere will tbh.

You do realise that its DVLA that issue the plates?

well my names alex. and i got the reg:
AL3XHU off ebay for £195. so tbh its luck of the draw. but i would recommend keep checking ebay, i know pistonheads have a section for reg plates aswell!

I looked into plates like that but thought twice when i saw the prices lol. So i got a mix of both names and birthday
