i have vectra sri 2.5 v6 (t reg) 70k on clocks..
its making scratching sound which gets louder when revd. i have been told its likly to be a fucked tentioner. so my question is which one is it more likly to be fan belt or cam belt?

Alternator belt tensioner, which worryingly also turns the water pump.

alternater pulley was wobbling all over the place fitted new alternater. All sorted now. Thanks for the advice.
