just saw a cav in my autotrader and it's only £295 ono its a J reg and maybe i can use this has the donor car for my 2.0 16v engine transplant, so does anyone know if the cav GLI has 16v?

Cav sri 16v are as rare as rocking horse shite. Your best bet is to source either a written off Cav Gsi or astra GTE 16v. The later of the two can be sourced reasonably cheap any way,.

sri 16v are ten a penny round here you can pick them up for under £1000 the gli only had the 20NE and C20NE which is the 115bhp and also came in the CDi there is the C20SEH which is the SRI 8v engine and had 130bhp same sort of power as the X20XE which as 136bhp.
