Im looking at buying a new radiator but theres a million different choices. Im only after a standard one but theres varying lengths, widths and depths along with what looks like varying fitments on the top (where the little metal bracket goes). How do i know what radiator i need? Its not as simple as asking motor factors as the engine is not the one listed as the standard one so it still comes up as a 1.2 whereas its a 1.6 16v. Do i just go for the one that matches the original engine as the fittings will still be the same?

did the present radiator come out the car that the engine came from and did the car have aircon?

The radiator i have at the moment came from the original car. The engine came from a different car. Theres no air con in the car.

I couldnt see one but then again its not in the best of conditions

I could do but i was trying to find out whether the one that came on the car originally was suitable for the new engine. Plus if i can get a bigger one that still fits id be better doing that to keep it cooler

not sure yet as its not ran since i put it in but it used to have a 1.6 16v radiator on it(which is the same) and it was fine

Spot on mate i'll just stick with the same size then as it cant make much difference.
