 as above, me and the gf are doing up her grans garden and now were for painting the house, I keep getting hold of a few years old paint (unopened) but its really thick under the arcylic top layer and when I mix it, it just stays all lumpy
My question is, can I do anything to save it?

If it's the clear/yellowy stuff on top with the colour underneath then mix it up and you're good to go. I've used stuff like that before and it's always seemed to do the trick.

If it's water based (acrylic) then it's probably hardened skin which won't break up, just strain the paint through some cheap tights.

Its got the clear/yellow acrylic on top thats liquid, its the actual paint underneath that when mixed in with the acrylic its just loads of tiny lumps

would'nt waste your time tbh mate if it parting ways in the tin and going lumpy then its just gonna flake off the walls all because it wont have the same propetys it once had.
buy new stuff you wont regret it when it saves you doing it all over again!
