Rear will be fixed anyway. Do the fronts have camber adjustment or are they just fixed struts?
If they are fixed too just get your tracking checked.

My local tyre place does tracking for £25, they get it spot on every time whereas Abbey Tyres tried 4 times, failed on each occasion and that cost £39. At one point they suggested the tracking was fine and that my 1.0 12v had torque steer

Tracking is just the front wheels, ideal for a FWD car with rear beam (no adjustment at back).

id rather pay and make sure caster, toe, and camber are all spot on, as makes for massive improvement

Only Toe can be adjusted on the Mk4 Golfs, so the bog standard tracking will be fine, usually about £20-40quid. Some places will check for free. TBH, if its driving straight then leave it.

the is200s geometric set up as standard is horrendous! Tony down at Wheels in motion got 3 is200's one doing motorway driving, one doing urban and one doing a mixed, and re-wrote the settings specifically for the is200, heard nothing but good reviews off people who have had the wim settings done, lowered or standard

Can't think of any standard cars with caster adjustment.
My BMW has toe at front and camber and toe at back, pity the front camber can't be changed as standard.

could you not grinde out the top mount brackets and get camber adjusters for standard suspension?
