anyone here do sandblasting?
am looking to buy a decent gun and looking for recommendations...

It's a filthy job. The one I use is in a tank that collects and re-uses the sand which is fine, but on a larger scale it ought to be done in a booth with the right kit...

we are looking at forming a large bay to do the complete landrover chassis. Will just make a temp structure for that.
but also want to use it in a smaller cabinet for blasting small things like brackets etc

Have you looked at stripping everything down and sending it away to someone like surfaceprocessing.co.uk who will do a nicer job than sand blasting, plus e-coat if you want. It will cost a lot, but so will buying all the kit to sand blast - you'll need a pretty hefty compressor!

already got a massive compressor in the workshop that powers all the tools etc
i like that website, have just emailed them  that looks a shitload easier than blasting for hours on end

Local place to me had a room with 2" thick rubber on all the walls and the floor to prevent the blast damaging the building.

2 inch is a bit excessive. We have 5mm rubber in our steel shot machines that lasts ages before we need to change

I work at a sandblasting and coatings place so i just take any bits i need and do them myself, doesnt usually take long to get it back to bare steel unless it has some tricky coating on or something

got a gun coming now, ordered it last night.
the place ed posted wants £400ish + vat, then i have to find a way to get chassis up there
