just been down the scarp yard where my mates works to see him there is a set of vectra sri wheels 4 stud being cut in half and chucked away the amount of nice clean cars they just crush

dose anyone no why so many scrap yards are doing this? is there more money in scrap?

just seems to me they are wasting alot money but might be a good reason just forght i'd ask

Scrap value is going up and vectra sri wheels are shit anyway so who cares.

I think at the minute ali is upto 90p per kilo. Unsure about other metals.

For a set of the same wheels been weighed in I got about £40 (I think)

another possibility, Scrapping in this way guarantee's instant return on them instead of having them hanging around waiting for the right buyer to come along

scrap yards dont really care about going on sites such as this ebay etc etc to try sell things when they can crush it and send it away.
they prob dont know that 4stud vectra wheels are worth much tbh if they knew that they would have to know the price of everything of every make of vehicle.

What you have to remember is these scrap yards arent full of car enthusiasts who know what every part is worth.. As far as they are concerned some shitty old Vectra was scrapped..

I've seen a few hundred quid of carbon fibre bonnet smashed to fuck, magnesium wheels just tossed in the scrap pile, cats cut from cars with expensive cat back exhaust systems then the rest just discarded.. They really dont care and if they spent the time caring they'ed not have enough room
