They are all either total cow boys or they just send everything off to one central place and charge you a mint!

I've just spoken to a local company who say they do 'proper wheel restorations' and the bloke was just telling me that they dont even have the wheels striped! They just stand them down a bit, fill in the kerbed areas and whack some more paint on them.. He told me "the multiple layers of paint offer better protection"..

Nice!

There's a place behind John Nike Centre in Bracknell that are pretty good, about £40 a wheel. Never had any problems and used them 4 or 5 times.

If all else fails mate, I know all the places to get the wheels vapour blasted, repaired/welded, filled and then powder coated but it means taking them all over the place

Yeah i think so, they used to be based next to ALS tires if you know the place?

I don't think they powdercoat tbh, I'll see what the name is when i get home as I can't remember off hand.

Lepsons acid dip the wheels but I don't think they do powdercoat However there is a local company (to me) that does industrial powdercoating who could probably do them cheap.

These guys also come highly recommended, little more expensive but excellent service and results.

Their work is impressive and the bloke who answered the phone was a sound chap but £100 a wheel minimum cost is way to rich for me!

CLASS A MOTHER FUCKERS!

I phoned them yesterday..
ME: I've got some wheels I need stripping, can you do this.
THEM: Yes of course..
ME: They are powder coated split-rims is that a problem?
THEM: No, we can properly do it while you wait! £20/wheel
ME: BRILIANT! I'll be over tomorrow..

So I speak to a guy there today..

"Oh they are powder coated, we need to order some special acid, that will take two days and we have to let them soak in it for ages... They'll probably be ready next week, that will be £35/wheel"..

ME: GTF!

Bollocks too it.. I'm doing it myself! I took the tyres off and split the rims today (god bless my battery impact gun, 80 fooking bolts!!) then whacked them on my mates ballance machine.. One wheels got a flatspot and another has a bent rim but other than they they are just grotty all over.. They will be getting acid dipped and vapour blasted on friday!
