Dealing with a company about obtaining finance on a car...

Filled in details on finance request from which is just basic stuff such as name address, occupation etc, no bank details.

They have now emailed me saying the finance company have asked for 3 months bank statments and can I ameil / fax them him if possible..

Is this okay to do? They are a well known company within the importing world (Torque GT)

Itl have my bank acc no. and sort code on there as you would expect and I know its safe to give these out, but its also got IBAN number and branch identifier code number on there.

Okay to send or should I cross through some info before I send?

Scan then, e-mail them and blank out the bits you're worried about.

im my experience they hardly ask for bank statments and rarely ask if your i.e self employed etc

they should real use credit search tools to see your history

but like above, if you do send it, then blank out any secure bits.

I'd of thought they'd want statements even more so if you're self employed tbh. Credit history tools can only show past/current credit. A bank statement will show incoming/outgoing a lot better.

I can't see a problem in sending it, ultimately they're going to have all your details anyway if you go ahead with the credit. It's standard practice.

Depends how seriously you're taking the finance offer from them.

If this is the last step in the process before they give you the cash then send it. I wouldn't for a random quote though.

I wouldn't email anything like that. Fax at least would be better.

IBAN is nothing, its just one of the codes you use to transfer money abroad, it will be perfectly safe to send them it, if it was risky they wouldn't be sent by regular mail
