Back at the start of April I sold my old Corsa SXI to a work colleague. I sent the Document off fine, we exchanged money etc and he hadn't mentioned it again so I assumed he received the logbook etc.

It popped up in conversation today that the Logbook has never arrived.

Which slightly worries me as I could be the owner still i suppose.

As the conversation grew on it got worse, he's kept my Mod's and made more yet not declared any so his insurance in theory is invalid.

This has made me worried, because if he got pulled over and his insurance was found to be invalid and i'm still the registered owner then I could be liable couldnt I?!

Is it my responsibility to chase the DVLA for the Logbook or his?!

Any advice appreciated CS

If he takes his new owner slip (wee thing he signed) into the post office, he'll get the form to apply for the log book for free. If he doesn't have that slip he'll have to pay for it.

Write to them, if he sends off for the log book, you'll also get a letter asking how come you didn't send off your side of the paperwork.

I've had one of these and they tried to fine me, I had to send them copies of the postage receipt and phone bills to prove I had been chasing it up.

ring them up instead of waiting for papers to come through. ive sat waiting for things from the dvla in the past so just rang them. they tend to be quite helpful sometimes
