Yeah taken from Nelson. Im heading back there tomorrow night, wont be much purring away, gong out onto the start of a shut down.

Possibly, we brought a lot of the work forward last trip due to erm unexpected outage (HSE prohibition notice) so hopefully most of our shutdown work pack will be completed. Will be there for start up though.....probably the worst time!! Its only a short shutdown anyway to coincide with unity going down, nothing major taking place on my side of things!!

Aye I was offshore for start up not to long ago, they kept trying to bring gas compression online and the GPA went off about 3 times over 2 days (mostly during the night )

Gas leaks at the turbine inlets, handy!!

Yeah the gas heads in turbine/RB211 enclosures have very low trip points, half of that elsewhere on plant. If a mech seal or labyrinth seal or somethings passing a bit its curtains.......mee maw's will be getting everyone out their beds!!

Ive actually never been dragged out my bed yet, probaby cos im on days when all the action happens. Nights are ramped down here with just op's babysitting the plant.

Everyone knows that its the tiffys that shut the place down 99 times out 100

What kinda of wired stuff do you see out there? I am sure I read about a nasty ghost encounter on an offshore rig. Anything wiered happened to you guys? (off topic I know, interesting anyway)

Erm, nothing strange really. Theres a few oddballs, heard some funny stories but its actually pretty much as I expected it to be except with alot more rust & dirt & shit.

Heard some weird ones about ghosts in the drillers shacks &mud labs etc, mostly cause no-one is there anymore - nae bugger is drilling. Other than that never really heard of anything...
