ok, i have a 1.2 8v merit and my EML light decided to come on yestoday after its mot, now when i put my foot down the EML light comes on and the car seems to judder and bog down, ive took it to a garage and the Diagnostic Port won't work for some reason, and i was going to do a paperclip test but when i looked i dont have all the pins in the Diagnostic port, can anybody help me please? The EML light just comes on when it feels like it and stays on for upto 2minuits (sp) then goes off but sometimes it only stays on for about 10seconds.

Any help would be greatful


I know this is the wrong section but i might more replies in here

egr valve needs cleaning or get a new one, or lamda sensor

i though egr valve, cleaned it out and the light didnt come on for about 15mile, but then when i pulled onto a slip road it started again :S will give it a propper clean out in abit
