hiya there i converted my corsa to c20xe a few month ago but never got it to run ive got no ecu light on but all over dash lights on its all wired up ive checked a few times now from different guides it turns over but havent got no fuel pump coming on neither spark all plugs are all in and earths wired up and cleaned but still no joy oh and nearly forgot its a 1993 late coil pack engine ive also tryed another ecu and fuel pump relay but still no joy also should there be an earth going from the alternator bracket to the block and the car was also a p reg 1.2 8 valve corsa ive changed the dash loom to a sport one with electric windows anyone got any ideas thank you

Assuming it is all wired up correctly it can only be the ECU or the CPS, only those will lose both spark and fuel.

sorry but whats that cps is that the single plug near the coilpack that you wire into the footwell

Crank position sensor. It is down at the front of the engine just below the O/S mount as it joins the block.

oh one other thing is any ideas on the ecu light no coming on it is all wired up but doesnt come on with ignition the bulb works

As said, IF it is wired up right it can only be ECU or CPS.

you got this fitted?



And have you got the red wire sheathed in a thicker black outer that starts by where the lambda wire originates going to a live?

yea i got that fitted is that the wire that comes from the coilpack the 1 pin plug

nope, it splits off from the loom around the drivers side suspension turret area. It's about a meter long and needs to go to a permanent live.

More often than not this would be a CPS/ECU matter but as I said from the word go 'assuming it is all wired up correctly'.

Do you know if it ran previously? Do you think the wiring is right or have you spliced it?

in that case i havent done that wire then didnt know that had to be done hopefully should sort it thank you for helping me out mate

the orginal loom was already cut on the XE plug end so i cut the corsa dash loom plug off then wired it yes it ran previously ive looked at a few picture ive seen on the internet its all colour to colour on the dash loom to XE loom and the single pin connector near the coilpack to the thick black wire on the dash loom

bit of an update but ive tryed the red wire and nothing happend so im guessing this would be a loom fault then as ive got no eml or fuel an no spark

if the fuel pump relay is shot you wont get a ecu light or spark or fuel

got a brand new one a few weeks back gave it ago but still nothing so im thinking maybe new loom ive tryed crank sensor but still nothing thanks for helping though

Turn on the ignition and shake the loom by the kick pannel you may have a doddgy connection
