i know ed had a go at a roof recently, has anyone else got much experience of it?

i need to make the plastic parts that go around ignition barrel/steering wheel, even fibreglass may do it

i have already begun to talk myself out of it. If i could make say 10 or something i could sell some on

give it a go outside the car and just test, if it turns out ok then go for it

i can take all the parts off, i would have to get a spare cowling and copy that, or just fit the spare i guess

You need to make a plug which is a positive shape of what the part is going to be. It's your master.
From the plug you take molds .
From the mold you take parts.

It's one of those things that people think is easy because it looks it, and in theory it is. But there are lots of things that can go a bit tits up and learning it can be a bit trial and error. Using prepreg carbon makes things a whole lot easier as wet layup is kinda messy.

thats what i'm thinking, its going to be alot of mess etc.

think i'll just keep an eye on ebay for a plastic one

I did this with carbon vinyl on my tomcat ages ago.All i done was got it and used a heat gun to shape it.worked a treat

if its small parts get on to CarbonMods Site - you can buy kits with instructions and videos to do it at home
I tired to set a group buy up and could offer discounts of 10% if I get 5 people or more fi I got more people but noone was interested

its a small part but quite an awkward shape, also they are in two parts as standard so unsure about how you fix that together?

he makes a tool making kit, a laminating kit and a simple skinning kit check out the site - the videos tell you everything you need to know though
