Few questions guys, got a corsa atm with a 1.6 thats deaders!
Been offered a 2.0 ecotec for a very good price, ino there not the favoured engine, but im willing to see how it goes.
Firstly how do they mount? Will it mount the same in the corsa as in the mk3 astra it came from?
What engine mods are out there for them?
And how do they compare to the C20XE's?
Thanks

ecotecs are 130bhp, redtops are 150bhp. Pretty sure they'll use the same mounts as the c20xe.
As for mods, same sort of things as any na motor - breathing mods, free flowing exhaust, cams, maybe carbs + throttle bodies.

Same mounts as an XE.. Easier engine to come by, The X20XEV lumps have all got a girdled bottom end and in the states tuning companies have their GM equivilents running well over 400bhp with blowers.

Parts are easier to come by too, as ofc most scrappies will have one in.
Just remember about the imobliser stuff (Same setup as a corsa).
It has been done before and its something i plan to do next year.

Surely you'd be as well fitting one of those 1.8's that everyone was raving about a few months ago? They're 125bhp aren't they, and they'll be a bit lighter I'd have thought.
