i like the way they call it a life time warranty but then say 100,000 mile limit, so its either not really a lifetime warranty or they expect there cars to only live for 100k miles

i imagine you have to go in for a free check to maintain the validity but you'll have to have vaux service history at correct interval

Would be funny to buy something occasional, keep it forever and keep getting it fixed.

Nice tidy white D VXR springs to mind.

Although the more I read, the more I think you would stop getting the benefits of it fairly quickly. Like if they put the lifespan of a gearbox at 60k and it fails at 70k, that is failure due to mileage not mechanical defect when it was new.

They're effectively protecting against it not lasting how long they think it will because it's not made properly, not guaranteeing that your car will be fixed when it breaks.

yeah it says wear and tear repairs are excluded. i imagine at higher mileage they'll say things failing is due to this. especially gearboxes

Convertible roof is covered but not against wear and tear. Mine doesn't line up properly any more but I would guess that they would claim that is down to it being used a lot.

i think theres some benefits to be had with this 'life time' warranty but theyve definately dressed it up to appear better then what it is.

however this may encourage another manufacturer to start offering more and more to what ends up being a proper lifetime warranty

It's not trouble-free motoring though. It's protection against manufacturing defects.
