MR2's are way too easy to spin, i'd hate to take one on a wet track which face it in this country is going to be most the time

Because the headgasket went on it and 3 valves. Cost me about 1k in total for a new head and fitting. then the bottom end went and that was 1k nearly inc labour.

I ended up braking even luckily as i bought it cheap but don't trust them after that experience

Golf Vr6 ... seem to be able to get them for around 1k.

Anyone know of mileage issues and if they handle decently?

I know but theres sooooo many i want something a little different. Also if i'm honest something a little bigger too as i'm pretty tall.

The golfs seem good value when a new Vr6 engine is only 400 ish pounds. Just really depends on whether they handle or not.

Look hard enough and you will find an e36 328i well in your budget.Great all round cars tbh with a well balanced chassis.

E30s to me always look unweildy and lardy, perhaps that's just because they're always budget and not particularly well set up.

E36 328 might be worth a look. There was one there today that left me.

E30 325s dominate on the ring, I reckon they are great little cars.

clio ph1 172...can get a a few for you budget, aslon as your not fussy about body work.

Its got everything you need for track.

The ph1 is light aswel. Stripping them out, loads get down to around 900kg
