These are the three i have picked out which i fancy.

So far i am tied between the GT and Mongoose. But quite like the look of the scott.

Also which is the best type of brakes to go for, The old v type or disk. If disk i notice there are two types hydralic and cable.

Just looking for a bit of advice really or if anyone knows of any alternatives for around the same price that would be great!

Same, i have a classic Zaskar and i would never buy a new one.

That one above is on 8 speed....

Is that where only the rear sprocket has the gears on not both?
