his 172, will be fine theres a guide somewhere on the net as to what order to do stuff, i know loads of people that first tried it on expensive cars, just a slow speed to start with what damage do you think youre going to do exactly

You could marr the paintwork and leave buffer trails if you haven't got a clue what you are doing.

It's not something I want to risk.

I bought one and practiced straight on corrado, and tbh they don't cut that much into the laquer at all, just seems like a quick and easy way of hand polishing.

i get the polsiher out and give it a going over quite often, its a quick way of getting rid of water marks etc. and i guess over time the deeper makrs will vanish

not getting it as perfect as a pro, but a damn better and quicker than polishing by hard.

i can see scratches and marks in the laquer if i look really close and hold the light at precisely the right angle but its good enough for me and 99% of people.

Just for reference, I polished that pink Corsa and it's nearly red now. Need to go over a few spots where I didn't spend long enough. But I didn't burn through the paint and I didn't need a fancy grinder?

I bet if you used this rotary it would have taken half the time and looked even better.

was that by hand?

with my puma it's not a case of paint fade or just needing a going over with the polish. i have lots of scratches and swirls that haven't come out with t-cut or SRP by hand polishing, so need a machine polisher to sort them out.

my semi deaf uncle had a scratch on his car and told him to try T-cut.

saw him 6 month later, and said he had tried it every weekend for ages and noticed nothing.

asked what type he had and he said, no lie "pg tips"

he had misheard and my dear old 86yr old nan had been saving him all the T-bags for him to polish his bumper with.

I've just been out with my cheap ebay rotary again, done the rear bumper, half the roof and a whole side in an hour, still using the shit pads that came with it and I didn't burn through anything

Cole check out polished bliss website, there is a guide on it which give tips etc. That's where it says to start with orbital ones as there is less chance of burning as its spreads the friction from the pad on to a larger area then a rotary one does. I can't see a problem with getting a rotary but just be careful and as they say use the softest pads and polishes first then work your way up.

walked into my grandads house once when he was still alive to find him sat in the chair in the front room with a wet tea bag on his head, all of it dripping down his face. I asked him wtf he was doing and he said he puts them on his head to die his hair
