I might go to the metal shop and pick up some scraps and have a try at stainless. Would be useful as I want to make an exhaust for my Corsa soon

ed if you can weld mild steel you can weld stainless it just runs abit slower and you gotta push abit more with the wire (tig welding). Alu is easier than stainless really, aslong as u got a good AC tig set then your sound.

ive been in the hospital before with eyes like pissholes in the snow after a day of welding at work .... allways wear a mask

agree with that, once you have had arc eye you avoid having it again. The only time I dont wear a mask is spot welding, just close my eyes or look away

i got a flash a few years ago, was fucking agony!
ended up at the hospital to get iodine in my eyes.
my eyes were constantly running like fuck.

i couldnt open mine missus drove me to the hostpital at about 3am and walked me in, as said its agony when you get it good , one of the worst nights in my life lol

3 days mine lasted almost, was on a ship in a room made out of stainless steel, couldnt avoid the light, couldnt open them for any longer than a few seconds max for a whole day. the next day they were dried right out and absolute agony

that shit they put in my eyes at the hostpital was emmense .. may of been that iodene you said? numbed the fvck out of my eyes for about 10-15 mins then it came back raging again and needed more
