My bro has a Astra CDTi 150 and it is pretty quick, my mothers BMW 320D feels quicker to me though.

Had an indicated 140mph coming back from London last yr. The Merc i was racing beat me though lol

i agree with this, my PD is all or nothing basically but the 2.0 in the A3 i drive is very good

None of the 1.9 PD's I've had have been all or nothing either, there isn't that much difference between the PD and the CR tbh.

Its nothing in first gear tbf, but after that goes pretty well.

Mapped now which is miles better, but even before that I'd never describe it as all or nothing.

My old 2.0 PD 170 was fine, had perfectly useable power - drove the CR 140 as a courtesy car while mine was in for service and it felt pretty much the same albeit a bit slower and a bit smoother...

No, but then I don't think many would class a Saab as a performance car.

We're not on the subject of performance cars though Never realised a Gold TDi was a performance car :s

The Saab has a high performance diesel engine hence why i suggested it.

17s to 60 compaired to 8.4! 97 top end to 134 for the MK4

Mk3 golf was the shittest ever made. Fact

Are you for real? the Mk3's were built a million times better than the Mk4's, and I'm speaking from a lot of experience from both myself and someone that runs a VW shop.
