I've been looking at GSI's as I'm bored of my 1.4, 8v. Been looking at loads, which I can afford to buy, insure however.. £2,997.40 and that's the cheapest i could find any body any know of any cheap insurers for young drivers??

I guess 19 year old's and GSI's, don't go!

Try Brentacre mate, I'm 19 with 1 years NCB and been driving a year, and i've got my Corsa Sport insured with its X16XE in, i can do any body/interior modifications and i have a power limit of 130bhp! Mine came to about £1800 fully comp, could always get it cheaper third party, fire and theft if you wanted to

buy a 1.4 sport... with a powerbox will be fast as a 1.6 sport and cheaper tax and insurance

That's naff and no where near as satisfying as owning a genuine GSi. I don't know whether they're still trading but Quinn insured me when I was 20 for around £600.

I had an insured XE at 18. Think that was with eCar or Adriun Flux, was about a grand. So surely you can find it cheaper somewhere.

I think insurance has gone up loads in the last few years, people are getting daft quotes. It's so unfair to new drivers it's unreal!
