Erm I just think they are lovely to drive, dont get me wrong comming from a 182 I would have a manual everything else, but having driven several BMW autos i just wouldnt have it anyother way, very intuative and smooth.
Saying that I was a sucker for a SMG m3 when I finally got a go!
John highlights the point though they are not every ones cuppa tea. In contrast I can't emphasise how boring and awfull the VRS is to drive get an Astra SRi Cdti instead even the SRi 100 drives well.
Anyhoo back on topic Tom thought about an RX8? Seen quite a few for under 4k now....thinking they will make awsome track cars soon when people catch on!

Having driven the 150 variants too and more recently the 100 they are all nicer to drive and thats my opinion I disliked the punch from the Fabia as it was all or nothing IMO

Fabia definitely drives better than the Astra 100 IMO, I find the fabia is actually very drivable, where as myself and all my workmates that have driven the astra pool car all agree that first gear is impossible to use - it is too short, so when the turbo begins to boost there's a huge surge in power, regardless of if you want it to or not
