bought a car on autotrader that came with three months rac gold cover havings problems now and hes trying to say that he only provided me with personal warrenty is it possible to find the old ad on autotrader because having a lot of trouble. thanks

I think your rights by law run out after 3 months, was it less than 3 months you bought it?

still within the three months but when i took it down to be repaired had the car back and problem was the same but he said when i bought that with the rac cover i could take it to any vat registered garage but according to him now i cant i have to take it to his own garage but he is saying that there is nothing wrong with it.

the gearbox when the car is in third or fifth when you lift foot on and off the throttle the gearstick is moving back and four seems as if its going pop out of gear. and its also difficult to get into other gears when cold and sometimes when the car has warmed up.

Sounds like the linkage isn't set correct or linkage bushes are knackered.

they changed the bottom engine mount because they said that was gone but when i had it back it was excalty the same.

I wouldn't take it back to his garage jsut tryign to con more money out of you. As said take it a VAT approved garage and get them to sort it, or if you have got any mates in the trade?

Btw a car Trader/Dealer has to by law provide a 30day/1,000 mile warrenty, even if they dont state it.

bit of an update got in touch with autotrader today got the old advert for the car and it states it comes with 12 month mot and 3 month rac gold warrenty when he give me the car only 8 month mot and no rac warrenty where do i stand with this and is there any chance of getting my money back. thanks
