One of the reason why i want piranhas isnt because of their colours.
put it this way, when youre all grown up you dont want to own goldfish, hamsters and gerbils especially if youre keeping them in your room. you want something more like a snake, or a tarantula, and i quite like piranhas.

Just so you know, they're not too fond of kebab, so don't bother chucking that in

What are the maintainance costs of a tank that fills around 200 litres of water?

Costs as in what? I just use fish food, tap water and elbow grease. Was handy with the Piranha cause I could chuck chicken & stuff in when I was making tea

I was referring to the comments above about the more expensive tanks. Other than food and cleaning the tank i didnt think there would be other bigger costs on top.

theres a video on youtube of an oscar attacking a piranha. the piranha fucked off and hid but there was only one piranha in the tank.

Remember dont stick a large fish in a smallish tank you will stunt there growth. You will need a good size tank for them and good filter system too.
I spent around £700 on my tropical setup and around £200 on fish! its not a cheap hobby! testing water, water changes ect ect its not as easy as just slapping some fish in a tank and away you go.
