I'd ask them 'did u take it for a drive?' which they'll reply 'no' then say 'why has it got 8 extra miles on the clock then?'
Then watch for their facial expression to change

find out who took yours for a drive then ask them if you could take there car for an 8mile drive in return. then give there car a good kicking for 8miles( limiter in every gear if needed)

my mate has just had this problem, he took his ibiza cupra r to the garage to get fix, stupid mechanics forgot to close the bonnet down on the test drive, he now has a smashed window and a dented bonnet
