I bet it will look like that. Dont underestimate the power of PS2. No game yet has used its full potential.

Those ARE real screenshots when IGN played it first hand at E3. It will look better than that, have around 200 tracks and over 1000 cars. ITs going to be just as impressive as when GT2 was released on PS1.

What, you mean a few more cars and slightly dodgier handling? That's what I thought of GT2 compared to 1. Very disappointed.

No, don't get me wrong, I liked GT2 and played it for ages... but GT1 was a better driving game. GT2 was easier imo.

god sake badger, get a life. GT4 handling will be as good as the rest of the series. Best handling of any driving game. You just cant drive.

yeah allright - if thats the case when i buy a aston or infact any car on that game i will be incredibly let down by the wank detached experience that it will give me - gt series is well over rated - yes it looks good, it broke new boundaries graphically and in terms of cars and tracks but the simple fact of the matter is that it dosnt handle like real cars - project gotham isnt 'super realistic' but its got better feeling of weight in the cars than gt, and at then end of the day i have driven many cars and played many driving games and gts handeling dynamic is toss.

There's no doubt those screens look good but none of them are 'in game'. They're all replays. I'd be interested to see how good the in game actually looks.
Its also a shame that the developers don't listen to the people who actually buy the game. Since GT started there has never been any 'damage' or proper collision detection. And it would seem that in 4 they've decided to ignore it again. You can make a game look as shiny as you like but if you can crash into another car or wall at 180mph without so much as a scratch then for me it makes the game completely pointless. Especially a game that promotes itself as 'the real driving experience'. So for me it IS an arcade racer. No better than ridge racer or V-rally.

No way! Grand Prix Legends on the PC holds that honour. And then maybe f355 on the dreamcast.

Steve you seem to be forgetting that most modern TV's have refresh rates way about 100hz, i know you are stuck in the days of Alba, but please think of others who have widescreen TV's and capable of monitor like activities. Marc_Gtir or whatever your name is, they could not show damage because of copyright issues and the problems of manufacturers not letting Polyphony re-create damage. It was phased in during GT2 with damage to steering controls but no physical damage. Unfortunately these problems still arise with Sony, Polyphony and the car manufacturers not wanting to show damage of their cars. So, it is not the fault of Polyphony, it is stingy arsed car makers. leek/l33t whateer, we are talking CONSOLES here, not PC. F355 on Dreamcast was OTT imo, and tried to re-create the driving experience using a hand-based controller. Soory, doesnt work well. At the end of the day, All of you lot are going to buy GT4. But i hope they have an option to change KM/H to MPH!!!

Isn't that what GT is doing? It calls itself 'the real driving simulator' after all...
I use the steering wheel on f355, it's the only way to play it properly.

its true wot steve says, tv limited to 550 lines of vertical resolution as opposed to 1024 on a 1280x1024 display.

i feel steve is absolutely correct. tv's cant produce images anywhere near as sharp as those screenshots, which the developers have probably spent time touching up aswell

gran turdismo is no way realistic. The only decent version was one. it was fast and real good in its day. the second one was crap, and the 3rd one was real slow. i love the fact that a mini cooper can out acelerate a nissan skyline!!! what the fuck is that about
