Impresses are cheap cars designed to be cheap and last the 3yrs/60k with no bother. Slap on some innovative engineering and features and it will sell bucket loads. It's a bit like a fridge with an ice maker, practical, you want one but its never "cool"
The go faster ones are simply the above car with mind boggling etc tech slapped on them. It's a boring car with bits stuck on to make it a very um boring car.
It's exactly the same as all other imprezzas. As John correctly pointed out the classic is ugly as sin and in no way special.
They where never famous for looking good they where famous for tremendous performance. Why you lot are shocked is beyond me.

not being funny but it is no different from bmw , mercedes or audis, standard bmw 316 is awful but the M3 has extra bits? most ranges have a base model and a top model...

However they are less of a White good not being Jap and that. Still my point was people saying "what happened to the imprezza" like it was some sort of Bertone special edition is confusing
