I'd have thought the first thing Vauxhall would've done last time would've been to get the Tech 2 (diagnostics computer) on it but if it is the crank sensor, they'd have to be looking at the right screen just as it cut out to be sure and the likeliness of that is very low. I know it's not great but I had a problem a while back that garages couldn't work out so I had to just keep changing things until the problem stopped, ends up costing but so do labour charges which can be just as fruitless, lose-lose situation unfortunately, unless the first thing you change fixes it

i had a car like this would only start with throttle pushed down and cut out when the revs was let off turned out it was the timing try taking your air filter off ( where the throttle body is and keep cranking it whilst getting someone to look in the engine bay and see if it spits petrol out , might be this might be not worth looking into it though

I agree with mike, would reckon on it being the crank sensor.

Probably is the crank sensor but may also be worth checking the fuel pump or even your lines to see if they are clogged up, although it would run lumpy before cutting out.

At one point my 1.6 used to cut out when it got hot, as well as it stinking of fuel and giving very poor economy.
I changed my CTS (coolant temperature sensor) an all was good again.
Part cost me about £10 from Autovaux IIRC.

People in the vauxhall said its possably a crank sensor so thanks guys, also it does cut out randomly as as said above its correct only starts after the gass is pushed right down so not too sure.
