I don't really get all this but I think it's more to do with the principal that what he's doing is technically not illegal.
But on the other hand, I don't see why there's such outcry if even the people who are supporting wikileaks are saying it's putting lives at risk. Has this all been worth it if even one person dies as a result of the 'leaked' info?
Where did all the cables come from in the first place?

a U.S soldier called Bradley Manning leaked most of them off a U.S militairy database or something like that, heard he's facing upto 52 years in prison for it

Its probably already been posted (I CBA to go back through all the pages), but
quote:
Now, Anonymous has issued distributed denial of service attacks onto credit card site MasterCard after they stopped donation support for WikiLeaks as well. Attempts to reach MasterCard's main site are, at the time of this writing, met with either extremely long load times or a connection timeout.
Early this morning, the group Anon tweeted from @Anon_Operation this message: "WE ARE GLAD TO TELL YOU THAT http://www.mastercard.com/ is DOWN AND IT'S CONFIRMED." Twitter is also now a target for Anonymous as the social networking website reportedly are preventing the #wikileaks tag from showing up among trending topics.
