Right, I understand how my traction control works, that's easy, but how the hell does my car know when the front wheels are pushing wide on a corner? It's a rwd car so it isn't detecting wheelspin, it can't be using any gyroscopic sensor as it'd think it was sliding all the time.

Anyone explain it to me?

your right they do mate. called a yaw sensor

its not YAW sensor its MY sensor

ysaw sensor http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yaw_rate_sensor
measures the angle of movement against the direction of the wheels or somethin like that.

yeah yaw sensor and will have a steering angle sensor too, so obviously knows if you are going straight whilst turning the wheel (understeering).
