Does this indicate that your rear shoes are worn or that they need a clean out? Opinions please

Forgot to say, in the context of the handbrake sticking on.

it could be shoes low, need cleaning out but, the handbrake on a corsa goes through 2 plastic guides at each side of the axle, sometimes the cables get stuck tight in them, i would strip it and clean the lot out, put new shoes on and clean out and grease up the 2 cable guides while it is all off.

Is indeed on the Punto. Was just thinking that of they need a clean out I should think about replacing the shoes. Seems to be happening fairly often now, cold, rain, salt can't help though.

Are Fiat drums prone for failing?

Failing?
They're just sticking - common issue with drums.

Yirp, but in the milder sense, leaving mine in gear for now. My old Corsa did it so bad once I had to get the wheels off and twat the drums with a copper faced mallet

You know the red one you had down the yard that was Steves, that Dan and I stripped for parts in the end, when we picked it up we were dragging it on the winch with the rear wheels locked We were smashing at the wheel with a MASSIVE mallet and I was kicking the handbrake and in the end only one side would go!

Could be the handbrake cable sticking or the levers on the shoes are a bit tight and need a bit of wd40.
