just ran car in for mot but failed on emmisions,garage i used is making a meal out off it making it sound a massive job,does anyone know a garage in manchester/tameside area that will pass the car without this test?

just need to speak to a friendly MOT station, have the same issue on mine with having no cats so need a friendly MOT person

I've had this done before. It wouldn't pass no matter what we did then magically it did pass

The garage has shut now though where I had it done at so no good to you

try asking in your regional section mate. Must be somewhere by you that will sort you out.

£20 on the passenger seat works wonders round here though

The last time i couldnt get my BMW through the test, i "accidently" swapped it for my dads 05 plate E46 without anybody noticing at all...

Same here mate, the probe 'fell out' of the Corsa's exhaust and into a 1.2 Clio for me

If the OP's talking about a standard car it'd probably just be easier in the long run to get it fixed.

Tbh cats aren't that much to buy online if it was me I would buy one and fit it myself :-)

Just go to a local one (i.e. not a chain like Kwik Fit) and ask them to stick another car on the ramps - give them some beer money

the garage i used is quite atm so think they just after the work and he doesn't know what it is think he spinning it to get the work!

i had to pay for 2 mots to get my astra through, however i did weld a 2nd hand cat in place that i got for £15 wich got it through... once it was nice and hot

Aye you're right, if there's nothing else showing as odd it's probably the first thing I'd go to.
