Misses has just bought a Corsa C with the standard double DIN stereo.
She wants to put her single DIN stereo in, keeping the controls from the steering wheel. I know it needs the fascia plate, but can anyone recommend the exact cables required?
Is there any issues with doing this and keeping the steering wheel controls?

If you go onto car audio direct and get the vauxhall to (whatever brand of stereo) wiring harness
Then you'l need the patch lead to use the multi stalk controls and it will be specific to the car. Im sure its easy to find what you need on the website

You'll also have to make sure that the CD player she is fitting is compatible with stalk controls - not all of them are I'm afraid.

So we could end up spending about £40 on the cable plus the patch lead and it might not work. Where as a standard cable is about £6. Ouchy.
Cheers guys.

I was around £40 / £50 for the cables for the ibiza
Im sure theres a way of finding out maybe before buying? What headunit is it? Newer stuff and big brands I prezume would be compatible? Stuff like sony, alpine and pioneer

I've got a compatible Sony headunit and some of the buttons have different functions. And I can't skip forward on CDs the button just does nothing

Would you say it isn't worth trying to get the steering wheel controls to work then? I guess the only thing you're guarantee'd is volume?

I've not got the thing on mine as I couldn't be bothered with paying for the adapter and taking it all apart again It was enough hassle getting the fascia thing in in the first place.

Only thing she is really missing is the MP3 compatibility. Current stereo is CD30 but there is CD30 MP3 available so going to keep an eye on eBay for one with code. Should work with steering wheel then.
