Guilty with mitigation - no guarantee it will go to court - only a common assault - caution eligible. If it goes to court then it will be a minor case - not looking at alot of compo. I would say £50 max. I got £75 for being punched in the face while on duty.

Im not fussed about compo but if he pleaded guilty (wouldn't have much choice considering the evidence) would he get a criminal record? Thus affecting future job prospects etc?

Fair play for not launching a dig back at him I don't think i'd have the self control to do that. Hope he gets what's coming to him.

Punch yourself in the mouth a few times and take pics with that date on, get some more money.

Then go to his house and lay him out on the floor, surprised you didn't punch him square in the jaw tbh!

I'm shocked you didn't protect yourself, if someone was walking at me or threw a punch, I don't think i'd just stand there and let it happen. Would be more concerned about getting shanked and want to lay him out before he pulled some metal tbh

Its easy to say when you're not in that situation. He was obviously a lot more worked up than I was. Also, being still sat in my seat belted up when it kicked off I was already at a massive disadvantage. He made sure he was out of my reach and any attempt to leave the car would have resulted in a good few shots before I was in any sort of position retaliate.

Regardless of what happend im more interested in the best course of action going forward.

If you claim off him you'll get a cheque for about £10 a month. Happened to a mate of mine.

I'd go set the cunt on fire.

Jim

Seriously people like this are scum. If he was worried about job prospects and police he shouldn't of punched someone for not letting him out a turning. Deserves everything thrown at him. Moronic shitcunts like this need to be reported, dont do the silly option, it's silly.

I would think the fact you didn't retaliate will hold up well in court.

Sorry to hear that anyway pal, not a nice experience
