I have been a complete mong and put £30 of petrol in the fiesta and its a diesel.

I drove the car for about 2-3 miles and its now cut out.

What ther damage most likely to be???

Can I just drain it and fill with diesel and give it a good run through???

Drain the tank, filters and pipes and fill it back up with diesel, shouldn't do any lasting damage.

Wrong, worst to put derv in petrol.

Just fill it to th brim and jet clear the Lines of pure petrol.

I ran a tdi golf from Manc to Bradford on a fiver of derv and 5 er of petrol. Was a bit lumpy but fine.

Worst too put petrol in a derv, petrol doesnt lubricate the same as derv and can fuk the pump if its run for too long if it runs atall.

Diesel in a petrol car will cause it smoke and generally it'll run like crap. Simply brim the tank with petrol and let it run.

Petrol in a diesel car causes any lubrication to be stripped, petrol is a spirit after all, and can (if it's only a drop then usually you'll be alright) cause serious problems. Usually, manufacturer garages will give you a quote to replace the whole fuel system - certainly this has been the case of the few people I know who have done this.

I was always under the impression it was worse to put diesel in a petrol.
I put 10er of petrol in my old 306 Dturbo.Stuck another 10er of diesel in and it fired up fine and drove ok,if a tad under-powered.Once the tank was emptied and another 10er of diesel put in it was fine.

Couldnt do that with a petrol car once diesel has been put in it.

Well it started last night and drove fine, it was even a bit smoother but this morning it won't start.

The tank was emptied, lines blown through with an air line and filters changed.

Fucking nightmare tbh.
