as some of you know got a 106 now, and it failed mot today on carbon monoxide levels after fast and 2nd fast..... it should be around 300 and its 750 and 800. i think the car is suposed to have an vapor puge valve some call it a charcoal canister, there is a plug from the ecu for it but no actual valve and there is a hole for it to go on the plenum. so do you think this could have something to do with the high carbon monoxide levels? and how exactly does it connect?

Charcoal canister is for fuel vapours to be absorbed, nothing to do with emissions.
Your lambda sensor or CAT is prob fucked.
Was the lambda values in range?

all exept one or 2 i think, bought a new lambda sensor today so thats going on, ive been told to put redex in also and give it a good drive through the rev range to warm the cat up just before i take it for the test cos lots of people say this works. as the cat works best when hot

my astra failed on emissions at two different test stations, so I got the tester to hold it at 3.5k for 5 mins then do the emissions... Passed easily! If you wanna make sure, give it a good service, new oil, filter, air filter etc get it really hot just before the test

as above really, a good service, fit the new lambda sensor, put a decent injector cleaner in and make sure the cat is a decent ceramic internals one not a crappy steel internals one, give it a good run, using the full rev range in each gear (within speed limits of course ) to clear the exhaust and cat out of all the shit and carbon deposits and get it really hot for the emmisions test and in theory it should pass without a hitch
