me and my mates want to make a CD for our holiday. I have the mp3's on my pc, but no cd burner. However, my mate had a cd burner on his laptop. is there anyway i cud easily trandfer the files to his pc?

for the price ud pay for a small usb networking setup might aswell buy a cd writer that attaches via the usb, if u wanna sit for ages could do a parralel port connectoin cables are about a tenner but not that quick im afraid

Think u can do a direct cable connection with a USB cable, but it's a special usb cable I believe .
You got a parallel cable? That's quite easy to set up as direct connection, but still slow

any one got any more info on how we cud tranfer the files using a parallel connection? how long would it take to transfer say, 1mb?

well i used to use it for playing network games such as GTA ans C&C but it would be the best way for u i think and easy to set up

no its built into windows m8, and the cable is a printer type but wires are crosssed ur looking 15 quid max

just use the window help for direct cable connection (dcc) for pc's under windows and ur sorted will have all the info in there hope that helps

get a networking kit off ebay search for network starter kit or something like that you can get one for 15 pound or there abouts i did

mini USB dongles, but most are more expensive than a cd burner! they are fuckin handy tho.
you can get a usb network adapter for the laptop for a tenner, i got mine from ebuyer.

Optronix do a USB network cable for about £30, I wouldn't describe it as fast though.
It'll move 100Mb in about 3 minutes.

two usb network adaptors and a crossover lead tho would be faster and cheaper!
